HRM - step 1: Preparing the setup
Before you start — a quick checklist
Go through these steps first. They help you set up leave correctly in the system.
1 — Gather your leave information
- Write down all the types of leave you offer. Think about vacation days, sick leave, and other leave arrangements — like extra days based on age or years of service, or special leave for moving, the birth of a child, or getting married.
- Do you have part-time employees? If they get the same leave as full-timers, but adjusted to their part-time percentage, you can add them to the same leave plans as full-timers. The system will automatically calculate their leave balance based on their part-time percentage.
- Do you have hourly workers? If they get the same leave as full-timers, but adjusted to their hours worked, you can add them to the same leave plans as full-timers. The system will automatically calculate their leave balance based on their hours worked.
- Do you use fixed work schedules? Write down all the fixed schedules you use.
- Write down the opening leave balances. You can enter these per employee as a starting balance on the date you start using the leave plans.
