About transfer of an employer to another account

  • Modified on: Tue, 23 Sep, 2025 at 12:34 PM

It is possible to transfer an employer’s data from one account to another including all history.

There are three scenarios:

  1. You are currently under the account of a Payroll Service Provider (PSP) and wish to manage payroll in-house.
  2. You are currently under the account of a PSP and want to transfer all data to a different PSP.
  3. You are an employer with your own account and want to transfer all data to a PSP’s account.

Requirements:

  • If the employer is currently under a PSP (scenarios 1 or 2):
We require an email from the current PSP confirming their consent for Celery to transfer the data either to your own account (scenario 1) or to another PSP (scenario 2).
  • If the employer has their own account (scenario 3):
We only require an email from the employer, with a contact person from the PSP copied (CC'd), stating the request to transfer data to the PSP.

Additional Notes:

  • In scenarios 2 and 3, Celery will proceed with the transfer once the required email is received.
  • In scenario 1, you must first create your own account. You can do this by following this link. After creating the account, please notify us. We will then adjust the pricing according to your agreement and inform you when you can upgrade your account. Once the upgrade is complete, we will proceed with the data transfer from the PSP to your own account.
  • Due to the transfer to a 'new environment' the employees and company users who already had an account will be deactivated in the old account. These employees and company users should therefore, after transferring to the new Celery account, be activated and invited again to activate their account. See more about sending an invitation to all employees at once with Bulk Edit. Please choose both options: 'Change employee user account status' and 'Send account invitation'.
  • We make a copy of the company to the new account, thus the old data stays in the old account but is archived.
